Northwest Theater of Operations. We Are Living History.
We remember those who served by reenacting the past.

The purpose of the Northwest Theater of Operations (NWTO) is to give its members the opportunity to learn about the common World War Two soldier by creating events based on WWII battles. To achieve this, members wear period correct uniforms, carry period correct weapons, and adhere to a military structure.

The NWTO is a mutual benefit non-profit organization centered in the Northern Oregon – Southern Washington area, (although we do have members that live in other states as well). It is also a non-political organization, meaning that the club does not support or promote any political ideology. Due to the sensitive nature of members wearing WWII German or Soviet uniforms, the club is very careful to make sure that no Nazi, Neo-Nazi, or Communist promotions, activities, or sympathies be tolerated. The NWTO also chooses not to participate or cooperate with other organizations where this type of behavior is tolerated.

Our events are held primarily on private property, but sometimes we are able to rent training areas on military posts. The events are not open to the public. This is for safety reasons as well as our attempts to keep non-WWII period items out of view of the participants.

Because the existence of any club is dependent on the interaction and deportment of its members, we have a “Code of Conduct” to insure a friendly, cooperative atmosphere on and off of the field. All NWTO members are expected to work together to help build the club as well as a sense of community. Our goal is to reenact the WWII frontline the best we can while also having a good time!

Enjoy history? Tired of dusty old books, and boring TV?
Watched all your military movies hundreds of times?

JOIN US in the NWTO (Northwest Theater of Operations) as we reenact some of the most significant events of WWII. We are a non-profit, non-political educational organization that believes that those who cannot recall the past are condemned to repeat it. We have one goal in mind, to recreate and preserve history as accurately as possible.

You’ll use real weapons with blank ammunition , and wear real equipment while reenacting combat that has no staged outcome — you are part of the story! Our ranks are filled with all types of people—history buffs, business men, collectors, language students, retired and active military. You can choose to portray either Allied or Axis personnel.

We hope we have sparked your interest in history, and will appreciate that we are trying to honor veterans of all wars.

You can JOIN US, or go to our Google Calendar to check the next upcoming events!
